Susu cycles that run themselves.
Slot assignment, payout tracking and reminders handled by the system — including open groups your members can discover and join by link.
The opportunity
A susu book lives in one notebook. Lose it and you lose the year, and every member has to take your word for what they paid.
SusuPaa runs the cycle, tracks who is owed what, and sends the reminders. Every member can check their own balance.
Why organisations choose Group susu
Cycles that keep time
Daily, weekly or monthly, with break days and slot gaps you set once. The system knows whose turn it is.
Turn order, split fairly
Give a slot to one member, or split it between two. The shares in a slot always total exactly one hundred percent.
Reminders that land
Cycle start, slot reminders and slot-closed notices go to the WhatsApp group your members already use, each with a pay link.
Shortfalls stay visible
If a slot closes short, the shortfall is recorded against it and stays visible until it's resolved.
Cycles and slots
Set the rules once. The cycle runs itself. Contribution, frequency, slot length, break days and your commission are fixed at creation and frozen per slot.
A group is a cycle of slots. When you create it, SusuPaa walks forward from the start date and skips the days you told it to. It lays out every slot with its dates and expected contributions. Each slot's obligations are snapshotted at creation. A mid-cycle change is recorded against the slot, so you can see exactly what it was before and after.
Frequency and break days
Daily, weekly, monthly or yearly cycles. Skip Sundays, market days or public holidays. The slot calendar adjusts.
Frozen obligations
What each member owes for a slot is captured at activation. Re-freeze after a change, and the recalculation is recorded against the slot.
Commission, declared
Your admin rate is part of the cycle's definition. Gross pot, net pot and your fee post as separate lines.
Payouts
Whose turn it is, and what they get. Slots can pay one member or several. The pot is computed from what was actually collected.
Every slot carries its payout entitlements. When the slot closes, the net pot is due to the members named on it, in the shares you assigned. Payouts move through requested, approved and paid states, by cash, mobile money, bank or cheque. Each carries a reference and a value date, so you can reconcile against your own records.
Split slots
Two members on one slot at sixty and forty. The maths is enforced: shares must total one hundred.
Due-payout queue
Closed slots appear on the dashboard until they are paid or deliberately dismissed. A dismissed payout stays owed.
Shortfalls, visible
If a slot closes short, the shortfall is recorded against it. Nothing is quietly rounded.
100%
is what a slot's shares must add up to. The system will not save a slot that doesn't.
Members and reminders
Members pay by reference number, from their phone. The cycle message names every member's number. The pay link takes them straight to their slot.
When a cycle starts, the linked WhatsApp group receives the cycle details, the payout order and a payment link. Each member has a reference number for the cycle. They enter it at checkout, choose their slot, and pay with the mobile money network they already use. Reminders go out before a slot ends and when it closes.
Open groups
Publish a planned group and share a join link. Members request their own slot.
See the member portal ›Editable templates
The cycle-start, reminder and slot-closed messages are templates you can rewrite in your own voice.
Overpayments, resolved
A member who pays twice is flagged. Transfer the surplus to another slot or refund it. Either way, it's on the record.

FAQ
Questions people ask about group susu
Can a member hold more than one slot?
Yes. A member can be assigned to several slots in the same cycle, and each slot keeps its own reference and payout entitlement.
What happens if the contribution changes mid-cycle?
Obligations are frozen per slot. Change the amount and re-freeze the affected slots. The recalculation is recorded and visible on the slot.
Does SusuPaa hold the pot?
No. Collections settle to your own accounts over licensed providers. SusuPaa keeps the record.
